CommunityAmerica Takes Neighboring Schools Out to the Ball Game

Credit union donates T-Bones tickets to Overland Trail Elementary/Middle Schools

Lenexa, Kan. (04/14/2006) -- CommunityAmerica Credit Union, in partnership with the Kansas City T-Bones, is providing a free ball game to families of Overland Trail Elementary and Middle Schools in the Blue Valley School District.

"The strength and vitality of neighborhoods is important to us, and we want to do more to enrich the schools that are anchors of those neighborhoods," said Coleen Hotop, community relations officer for CommunityAmerica. "We're proud to provide a night of family-friendly entertainment to Overland Trail Elementary and Middle Schools."

Students will nominate two school faculty/staff members to throw out the first pitch at the games. Attendees are invited to participate in between-inning activities. And, a student soloist and a choir of students from the schools will perform the National Anthem before each of the games.

CommunityAmerica distributed vouchers that are good for up to four free tickets to T-Bones pre-season games at CommunityAmerica Ballpark on May 6 and 7. Recipients can redeem the vouchers only at the nearby Blue Valley branch of CommunityAmerica Credit Union, 6280 W. 135th St. (135th and Lamar), until April 21. Up to 5,000 T-Bones tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
