CommunityAmerica Hosts International Leadership Delegation

Financial leaders seek to learn more about credit unions in America.

Lenexa, Kan. (04/11/2007) -- CommunityAmerica Credit Union played host to four distinguished foreign visitors and their guide on Thursday, April 5, at the organization's headquarters in Lenexa, Kansas. The U.S. Department of State invited the participants to examine this country's financial system and, in part, to study U.S. experiences in banking that might be transferable to other nations.

The group, including representatives from India, People's Republic of China, St. Lucia and Zambia, began its tour in Washington, D.C., then made its way to the Kansas City area to meet with local business groups and representatives from area financial institutions.

This is the second year CommunityAmerica has participated in the International Leadership Tour. "We are privileged to participate in this international dialogue for the second year in a row," said Mike Patrick, Chief Operating Officer. "It creates a much greater understanding of the global impact of credit unions in the financial services marketplace."

Patrick headed up the roundtable team from CommunityAmerica. Also on hand were Tim Saracini, vice president of treasury services and Sean Yokley, vice president of government and corporate affairs.

Other stops on the delegation's tour of the Kansas City area included a visit to a local bank, the Mid-America Regional Council, the Downtown Development Council of Kansas City, Mo., and the Mid America Minority Business Development Council. The group also traveled to Topeka to visit with the Kansas Division of Budget and to tour the capitol.
