CommunityAmerica Credit Union and Midwest United Credit Union Merger

We are excited to begin the process of bringing two great Kansas City credit unions together for the benefit of our members. The combined organization will provide you with more locations and an expanded product line to choose from. Work has already begun for a seamless integration which will be completed on April 28, 2008. The next few months will be an exciting and busy time for both Midwest United and CommunityAmerica. We know you may have questions, and our staff is prepared to assist you.

What will the merged credit union be called?
CommunityAmerica Credit Union


How will rates and service charges be affected?
The rates and service charges offered by both organizations are competitive and will continue to be so. Long term, the financial strength of a combined organization equips the Credit Union to continue offering competitive rates and service charges in a highly competitive marketplace.


How will service to you be affected?
Both Midwest United and CommunityAmerica are committed to delivering a superior member experience and will continue bringing great service to you with the added benefit of a more robust product portfolio and additional locations.


Can I start using any branch?
Continue to conduct credit union business as you always have; i.e., Midwest United members will continue to use Midwest United branches and contact center and CommunityAmerica members will continue to use CommunityAmerica branches and contact center. You will have full access to all branches beginning
April 28, 2008.


Will any branches be closed?
No branches will be closed. In fact, as a combined credit union we have 26 branches for your banking convenience with many additional branches planned in the near future.


When and how long will the merger take and how will my accounts be affected?
The integration of the two organizations will be complete by April 28, 2008. Our goal is to complete this integration in a manner which keeps our members’ interests first and foremost. You will receive updates on how the merger process affects you as these details become available.


Will there be any adjustments to my ownership share with the new organization?
No, your ownership share of $1 will remain the same with CommunityAmerica and all of your membership rights will be retained.


Will my account(s) still be federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA)?
Yes, effective November 1, 2007, Midwest United Credit Union and CommunityAmerica Credit Union merged into one entity. As a combined legal entity, it is insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) up to $100,000. In addition, your primary savings account will gain additional private insurance protection of $250,000 for a total of $350,000.


What if I have accounts at both credit unions?
You will be contacted as the integration proceeds regarding the consolidation of your accounts.


How will employees be affected?
All employees are assured positions at CommunityAmerica with expanded professional opportunities in both training and career advancement.
